A Dothan man is facing felony charges after police say he spit on an officer.
Police say 31-year-old Travis Sentell Parks is charged with felony attempted first-degree assault after he tried to bite an officer last Wednesday. They also say he spit in the officer's face around the eye and nose area knowing that he had hepatitis b.
The officer did not contract the disease.
The incident occurred while Parks was being transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center from the city jail and learned he was not being admitted.
He's being held at the Houston County Jail on $50,000 bond. If convicted, parks faces one to 10 years in prison.
