On June 24, 2011 the Dothan Police Department responded to a shooting shortly after 11:00 p.m. in the 100 block of East Savannah Street. An investigation into the incident has revealed on June 24, 2011 at approximately 11:00 p.m. Curtis Cassady and an acquaintance were at a residence on East Savannah Street when they started a verbal argument. Cassady left and was walking down the street and the acquaintance followed. Cassady then pulled a pistol and shot the victim stating he felt threatened. Investigators say the victim was several feet away when shot and was unarmed and therefore the shooter has been charged with Second Degree Assault. The victim was treated and released at a local hospital for a gunshot wound in the upper left leg.
•Curtis Brian Cassady, white male, 26 years of age, of South Foster Street was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault with a $ 10,000 bond.
