DOTHAN, AL - On December 20, 2013 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following a recent investigation, which involved multiple businesses being burglarized in the downtown Dothan area.
Investigators say from December 3rd through December 18th, 2013, Derrick Lampley burglarized several local businesses and took multiple items. Investigators say that during one of those burglaries, Lampley took a credit card and used it multiple times to withdraw money from an A.T.M machine on December 17, 2013.
Investigators developed leads while working each individual burglary. Those leads ultimately led to Lampley being identified as the suspect and taken into custody.
• Derrick Timothy Lampley, black male, 51 years of age, of North Oates Street was arrested and charged with 8 counts of third degree Burglary and 17 counts of Fraudulent use of a Credit Card. A bond amount has been set on all charges and totals $2,450,000.00. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
