Decatur, Ala. Woman Charged With Transporting Beer

ATHENS, Ala. (AP) -- A Decatur woman accused of transporting 112
gallons of beer from Tennessee to Alabama for a party has been
charged with transporting prohibited liquor.

The Athens News-Courier reports ( ) that
39-year-old Gloria Crisantes Salazar, was arrested Tuesday morning
while traveling south on Interstate 65 in Limestone County.

Limestone County Sheriff's Lt. Brad Curnutt says the deputy who
made the traffic stop, noticed Salazar had 15 cases, or 112.5
gallons, of 40-ounce bottles of Bud Light beer in her vehicle.

The police report says Salazar told officers she had been
planning to have a party.

    You can buy Bud light beer in Florida. Why go all the way to Tennessee to get beer ? Also why is it illegal to buy beer in one state and carry it to another state ? After you buy it it's yours isn't it ?
