The Dothan Police Department needs your help to catch an alleged purse-snatching thief.

The theft happened inside of Fred's Store on Oates Street back in September.

The victim admits to placing her purse in the shopping cart and walking off.

In surveillance video released by the Police Department, the thief waits for the customer to leave and then he grabs the purse and walks off.

The black male was last seen wearing all black and works as an independent window washer.

"Often times people who have independent trades like this will travel around and service numerous businesses and we're hoping business owners will take a look at the clip," said Corporal Rachel David with the Dothan Police Department.

Anyone with information about the case or the suspect's identity is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (334) 793-7000.
