The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) today announces the arrest of Christopher Donald Lundy, 27, of Niceville, Fla., on felony drug charges.
The WCSO investigation began March 2010 after investigators executed a search warrant and recovered more than a pound of cannabis and drug paraphernalia from 43B Cypress Pond in Santa Rosa Beach.
“Even the smallest amount of information can travel across state lines,” said Sgt. Danny Garner, Tips Coordinator for the Walton County Crime Stoppers. “This tip led to a coordinated effort among multiple law enforcement agencies to quickly apprehend this fugitive.”
An arrest warrant was issued charging Lundy with production of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell and marijuana possession of more than 20 grams, all third-degree felonies; and possession of narcotic equipment, a first-degree misdemeanor.
The WCSO received information Nov. 15 through the Crime Stoppers of Walton County tip line suggesting that Lundy fled to Colorado. Investigators contacted the Inter-County Drug Task Force of Boulder County, Colo. The task force subsequently arrested Lundy Nov. 15 in Breckenridge, Colo.
Lundy is awaiting extradition to the Walton County Jail without bond.
