WEST ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) -- Police in New York say they will resume a search for bodies in the ongoing investigation into a possible serial killer on Long Island.
State police say recent FBI aerial photography is prompting a return to the area on Tuesday. State police did not specifically say if the photos, taken in April, yielded additional evidence.
Previous searches were conducted along Ocean Parkway. The new
search is eastward, along the nearby Robert Moses Causeway, which
connects Long Island to the barrier island where remains of 10 people have been found since December.
Police believe a serial killer may be responsible for the deaths of at least four prostitutes whose bodies were found in the area.
Authorities suspect additional killers may have also left victims along the remote parkway.
