The Alabama Supreme Court announced the execution date Friday for Christopher T. Johnson.
Johnson served as his own attorney at his trial in Escambia County in 2006.
He testified that he intentionally hit and suffocated his son, Elias Ocean Johnson, on February 20th, 2005, because he hated his wife.
He asked for the death penalty.
The jury and judge obliged.
Assistant Attorney General Clay Crenshaw says Johnson declined further appeals after the Alabama Court of Criminals Appeals upheld
his death sentence in December 2009.
