Beginning in early May, Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigators worked several burglaries on Duncan Community Road, Baldwin Street, Earl Gilbert Road, Cheryl Avenue, Old Bonifay Road and Academy Place in Sunny Hills. Over $10,000 in property, primarily jewelry was taken in the burglaries.
WCSO investigators worked tirelessly to establish a possible suspect and recover several thousands of dollars in jewelry from local pawn shops where the suspect had pawned the majority of the stolen items.

“We, like the entire community, have felt the effects of the declining economy and mounting unemployment rates and its impact on crime” states Sheriff Haddock. “We know the immeasurable value of personal property and the lengths to which good people have to work to provide for their family. It continues to be a priority for every investigator in our office to ensure that our neighbors who are victimized are able to see justice served.”
