A Chipley man who received a mysterious package at a Jackson County truck stop and dumped some of its contents while being chased by deputies faces multiple charges.
Kay Sharhone Dean is charged with hit and run, defacing a traffic control device, fleeing and attempting to elude and reckless driving, among others.
Authorities say the Post Office intercepted the package. Authorities allowed it to be delivered, and the recipient took it to Dean at the Love's Truck Stop.
Once Dean received the package, authorities tried to pull him over, but he fled. During the ensuing chase, authorities say dean was throwing things from his vehicle, including marijuana.
The investigation is ongoing.
Dean is being held in the Washington County Jail. More arrests are pending.
