ORLANDO, Fla. – Casey Anthony is back in Florida, but where she’ll serve her year of probation is a secret.
Department of Correction officials said Thursday that Anthony, 25, will serve her sentence in a secret location in Florida for her own safety. Anthony reported for probation on Wednesday.
Officials said the court ordered them to keep Anthony’s location and any information that could lead to her location confidential because she’s been receiving death threats.
A jury acquitted Anthony in July for the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee, back in 2008.
Department of Corrections spokeswoman, Gretl Plessinger, said Judge Belvin Perry made the decision because he believed “Anthony is one of the most hated women in America.” Judge Perry ordered Anthony back to Florida to serve one year probation for pleading guilty to a check fraud case. She admitted to stealing and fraudulently writing checks in the amount of $400.
The court will also keep the identity of Anthony’s probation officer a secret, along with his or her probation office location. Plessinger also said the probation officer would be required to help Anthony find a job or enroll in school.
Anthony has been in hiding ever since she was released from jail on July 17th
