KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- A medical examiner has confirmed that a
body found about 10 minutes from a central Florida man's home is
that of his missing ex-girlfriend.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office reported Friday that the
body recovered is 27-year-old Nicole Fields.
Fields' body was found behind an abandoned home around noon
Thursday. The medical examiner says she appears to have died from
multiple stab wounds.
Fields' ex-boyfriend, 28-year-old Steven Louis, remains in the
Osceola County Jail without bond. He has been charged with
aggravated battery, and authorities say murder and possibly other
charges are pending.
Fields' mother became worried last Thursday when she didn't
return home from a court hearing to get Louis to pay back child
support for their two-year-old daughter. Fields never picked up her
children from the baby-sitter.
