A Fort Walton Beach resident has been arrested by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on charges he burglarized two businesses at a complex on Racetrack Road last month; Gulf Coast Bingo and Spare Closet Consignment Shop.
18-year old Thomas Bergeron of 611 Manchester Road faces two counts of burglary, two counts grand theft, and two counts of criminal mischief in connection with separate break-ins at 109 Racetrack Road.
The first occurred in the early morning hours of July 23rd at Gulf Coast
Bingo. Five flat screen tv’s were taken from the business.
Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office were able to
develop Bergeron as a suspect in the Bingo burglary. When they went to speak to Bergeron at his home, they were invited inside.
While there, Investigator Matt Abbott noticed a jewelry box as stolen property from another reported burglary that took place at the Spare Closet Consignment shop on July 26th.
Deputies then also found one of the stolen televisions from Gulf Coast Bingo inside the home. The location of the other four is still under investigation.
In addition, deputies were able to recover some of the jewelry and a
computer taken from the Consignment store.
