The Bay County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Panama City Beach Police this morning after they apprehended Clifford Washburn, Jr as he burglarized Shuckum’s Oyster Bar at about 8:00 a.m.
While PCBPD officer’s questioned Washburn about the burglary he stated he had also burglarized Billy’s Oyster Bar, a restaurant located outside the beach city limits at 3000 Thomas Drive, at about 2:00 a.m. this morning. Investigators with the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division were called to speak with Washburn.
Washburn stated to BCSO investigators that he was also responsible for a burglary at Condom Knowledge on Thomas Drive in December of 2010, and several recent boat burglaries at Pirates Cove Marina, all located within the BCSO jurisdiction. Washburn was placed under arrest and charged with Armed Burglary and Felony Criminal Mischief in connection to the burglary at Billy’s Oyster Bar today, May 25, 2011.
Consent to search was obtained for Washburn’s home and it was searched today. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
