MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- A judge in Mobile has delayed a decision on
setting bail for a man being held in the 2007 shooting death of one
of his employees.

Michael Crocker is being held in the shooting of Stephen O'Neal
Perret, a manager at Vulcan Industrial Services, where Crocker was
a part owner.

Perret's body was found in the 46-year-old Crocker's pickup
truck. Prosecutors say Perret was shot twice in the back of the
head with a rifle.

The Press-Register reports (http://bit.ly/smE8di ) that in the
midst of the investigation, Mobile County sheriff's deputies said
Crocker had cut out part of his own tongue. Crocker claimed he'd
been attacked.

Authorities have declined to say what led them to arrest
Crocker.

Earlier this year, Crocker and his wife were charged with tax
evasion.
