The man accused of killing six people and wounding 13 others on Saturday, including an Arizona congresswoman, made his first court appearance Monday.
So far police say 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner has refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Officials believe he specifically targeted Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who was shot in the head. A 9-year-old girl, congressional aide, federal judge and 3 others were killed in the incident.
A judge ordered Loughner be held without bail.
The White House says President Obama is getting updated on the investigation by his chief counterterrorism adviser and that he's spoken with several families of victims.
