The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three individuals in connection with a rash of recent car burglaries in the Auburn/Broadview Circle area of North Okaloosa County.

22-year old Shawn Stillman, 19-year old Shane White, and 18-year old Jack Sweck, all of 3459 Auburn Road in Crestview, were taken into custody on Wednesday, April 27th.

They are charged with burglary, grand theft, and larceny.

Deputies say the three agreed to “car hop” in Broadview Circle neighborhood where they stole items ranging from portable DVD players and flashlights to a laptop computer and sunglasses. Deputies say all the cars were unlocked.

To help you lessen the odds of becoming a victim, the Sheriff’s Office promotes a campaign called Lock, Take, Hide which encourages you to lock your cars, take your keys, and hide your belongings at all times. Many car burglars are looking for easy pickings such as cars with unlocked doors or open windows.
