3 Fla. Women Charged with Beating Neighbor

PALM BAY, Fla. (AP) -- Three central Florida women have been charged with battery after police say they beat a neighbor who asked them to keep the noise down in their apartment.

Palm Bay Police said the victim knocked on the suspects' door Saturday and complained about the noise level. When she turned to walk back to her apartment, authorities said Laquesha Cooper, Keshawn Chapman and Toshiba Love jumped her.

Florida Today reports the victim, who was not identified, managed to escape.

But authorities said she returned to the area later that night looking for her keys.

As she searched the parking lot, police said the women spotted her and beat her again. This time she was allegedly left face down on the ground bleeding.

Cooper told authorities the victim threw the first punch.
