On 05/14/12 a vehicle was reported stolen from the Hudnall Building located at 4250 Hospital Drive, Marianna, FL. The victim had placed her purse in the trunk, which was later discovered by the suspects. The suspects used the victim’s credit card to make fraudulent purchases at various places in Bay and Washington County. On 05/16/12, the victim’s car was recovered on Edgewood Drive, with the inside badly burnt. At the time no suspects had been developed.
On 05/16/12 a second car was stolen from a different victim’s driveway located at 4093 Circle Drive, Marianna, Fl. On 05/17/12 FHP recovered the car in Gadsden County, abandoned. It was later learned that this victim’s credit card was also used fraudulently in Gadsden County. Similarities between the two auto thefts revealed that the two thefts may have been linked.
The purchases made on the first victim’s credit card lead to the identification of two suspects, Daniel Lang of 3148 Bumpnose Road, Marianna, FL and Breyuanna Hall of 2803 Penn Ave, Marianna, FL. The video obtained from the Bay County Wal-Mart where the first victim’s credit card was fraudulently used, Lang and Hall entered the store with a white female, later identified as Erica Jackson of 6843 Welcome Church Road, Sneads Fl.
On 06/19/12 a warrant was issued for Lang, for the fraudulent use of a credit card and identity theft. A warrant was also issued for Hall for her fraudulent use of a credit card and identity theft. On 06/19/12 both Lang and Hall were taken into custody for the aforementioned active warrants without incident. According to Lang and Hall, they along with Erica Jackson, had schemed together on 05/14/12, to steal a vehicle to go joy riding. When the vehicle was returned on 05/16/12, Jackson hid the vehicle and burned it, in order to conceal the car’s identity and destroy evidence. Hall and Jackson then stole the second car from 4039 Circle Drive on 05/16/12, which was later found abandoned in Gadsden County by FHP. Once the identity of the third person, Erica Jackson was confirmed, a warrant was also issued for her arrest for grand theft auto.
Upon the arrest of Lang and Hall, they were taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance. Jackson, who is still at large, is being charged with grand theft auto and arson. Warrants for her arrest on these charges have been issued.
