26 Arrested, 28 Dogs Rescued in Dog-Fighting Bust in Orange County


APOPKA, FL- Twenty-six people have been arrested and 28 dogs rescued in south Florida.

Police say the raid happened in Apopka on Tuesday. They received an anonymous tip.

They raided the home while a fight was underway. Investigators say it was critical to find a fight in progress to bring the strongest possible charges against those arrested.

Police say two children, ages 3 and 5, were also at the home watching the fights with their parents.

Orange County animal services is now sheltering more than two dozen pit bulls that were rescued.
