DOTHAN, AL - On February 24, 2013 the Dothan Police Department responded to a firearm assault involving two suspects identified as Jeremy Shanta Jones and Percy Scott. Investigators say the incident occurred at the Play Boi Palace, located at 507 N. Cherry Street when Jeremy Jones and an unknown subject exchanged words inside of the business. Witnesses state that Jones produced a firearm outside of the club and an employee attempted to take it away from him. While struggling with Jones, the employee was shot in the back by Percy Scott. It is believed that the employee was able to take the weapon from Jones and return fire, shooting Scott in the hip. As Scott fell to the ground, he shot several rounds into the surrounding crowd, hitting two subjects trying to flee the area.
All four subjects were transported to a local hospital where the two bystanders were treated and immediately released. The employee of the business remains hospitalized but is listed in stable condition. Scott was treated for his injury and both he and Jones have been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder. Jeremy Jones has also been charged with Possession of a Pistol by a Violent Felon with bonds on all charged to be established at a later time.
• Jeremy Shanta Jones, black male, 25 years of age, of Naomi Drive was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Pistol by a Violent Felon.
• Percy Rogers Scott, black male, 22 years of age, Williams Avenue was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
