ATLANTA (AP) -- Police say one person has died and another was injured during separate shootings in downtown Atlanta.
Atlanta police said Saturday a man who was shot in the back around 9 p.m. Friday at an entrance to Underground Atlanta has died from his wounds.
Officer K.Y. Jones said a second man was shot during a drug deal inside a car a few blocks from Centennial Olympic Park around 6:30 p.m. Friday. The shooting took place about 30 minutes before an NBA playoff game was set to begin at nearby Philips Arena. Jones said the shooter tried to rob four men and that all the suspects were in custody.
The names of the victims and suspects were not immediately released.
