Keepsake Returned to Local Vietnam War Veteran Thanks to Dale County Man

Updated: 06/10/2014 - Twenty-five years ago, Ariton resident Garrett Maund found a unique lighter in his great uncle's dresser drawer. When he noticed the lighter was engraved with a man's name and a unit number, he decided to attempt to track down the veteran. The lighter belonged to Mr. Buster Ausley. He is a Vietnam War veteran who lost the lighter more than 40 years ago after returning home. He said he basically gave up hope of ever finding the lighter.
