Ariton Community Preserving Lifetime of Memories Between Covers of a Book

Updated: 02/14/2014 - For three years, a committee of 13 Ariton residents, both present and past, have worked together and with the community to write down and collect the town's history and memories. Beginning in March 2011, they started their journey of writing a book, "Ariton: Where Two Rail Roads Collided," and it is in one of its final stages of completion. Committee members are hopeful that it will be back from the publishers by next month.

Soldiers Get an Close Look at Accidents in the Field as a Part of Risk Management

Updated: 02/13/2014 - A group of soldiers have spent the past six weeks focusing on risk management. For the past couple of weeks, they have worked at the crash dynamics lab to better understand helicopter and motor vehicle crashes. At the lab, soldiers have the opportunity to investigate 16 replicas of different crash scenes that actually happened. From the crash lab, they better understand how to secure a site, take appropriate photographs, mark and diagram the scene.
