Two men are in jail as suspects in a Dothan business robbery attempt.
The incident happened at the old Courtney's mobile home business on Hodgesville Road.
Investigators say Theron Manning and Lindsey Thomason of Dothan were hoping to get away with goods, but instead were caught by the owner who took action.
On Monday morning, the owner of Courtney's mobile home business went to check his store.
What he walked in on were two individuals inside.
“About 11:00 this morning, Houston County Sheriff Officers received a call that there was a burglary in progress at the location show behind me,” said Captain Tony Gonzalez with Houston County Sheriffs.
The owner quickly drew his gun and chased the burglars out of his store.
“They were trying to exit the building and leave the scene. One of the suspects decided he wasn't going to stay and became aggressive to one of the owners,” said Gonzalez.
He says the owner then fired his gun to intimidate the would-be burglars.
"At that point he went to the ground," said Gonzalez.
The pair was held at gun point until law enforcement arrived. Deputies think the men were attempting to steal scrap metal.
“They can sell pretty easily without any identification issues and without being caught,” said Gonzalez.
Both Houston County Sheriff's and Dothan Police assisted with the arrests.
Both men have been taken to the Houston County Jail.
They're being held on bond.
