TAMPA, Florida A Tampa Bay-area woman has been convicted of
fatally shooting a Maine man at her home in 2009.
A Hillsborough County jury found 45-year-old Tamra Leasure guilty Thursday of second-degree murder.
Authorities say Leasure shot 57-year-old Arthur Tilley, of Dedham, Maine, three times in March 2009. She claimed she was trying to defend herself from her drunk friend. She testified that he threatened to kill her, shoved her and came at her.
Law enforcement officials testified that Leasure lied at first about shooting Tilley and kept changing her story.
Leasure is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
