The wiregrass united way kicked off their fall campaign Wednesday. And this year they're raising their goals.

More than 100 companies came out to celebrate the start. Those companies will be the pace-setters.

They'll conduct an employee campaign this month, and announce their totals at the main kick-off event.

"The agencies we help fund are in such great need as the economy continue to struggle, so we need to raise more money this year than we ever have," Wiregrass United Way Chief Executive Officer Walter Hill said.

The Wiregrass United Way hopes to raise two-point-five million dollars.

That’s one and a half percent more than what they raised last year.
