Wiregrass Students Bring their Best Robotics to the Competition

DOTHAN -- Local whiz kids from 11 different high school and middle schools around he Wiregrass packed the Dothan Civic Center for the BEST Robotics Competition on Saturday afternoon.

They have been working as a team for 42 days to build a robot. Team members could fulfill tasks such as making the booth, creating the robot, public relations and putting together a marketing presentation.

The schools that participated include Troy - Pike Technology Center, Carroll High School, Eufaula High School, Rehobeth Middle School, Wicksburg High School, Bullock Co. Technology Center, Macon Co. Technology Center, Dothan High School, Houston County CTC, Dale County Christian School, Admiral Moorer Middle School, Coppinville Jr. High School and Northside Methodist Academy.

Wicksburg High School took home the winning prize and Rehobeth Middle School took second. They will advance to the regional competition at Auburn in December.
