And that means there's more food to go around, to help stamp out hunger.

Totals for the number of good collected in Houston County came to eleven tons.
Because of this large number, volunteers from Calvary Baptist Church and Wiregrass Church had volunteers collecting the food as well.

"When we break it down to meals, that’s when it really hits people and that will provide 18,694 meals." Wiregrass Area United Way Food Bank Director David Hanks said.

This is just the meals for Houston County, the food bank is still in the process of counting the rest of the food for other counties.
Hanks believes they'll exceed last year’s goal of 60 thousand pounds of food.
