HOLT, Fla. (AP) - Fish and wildlife officers are looking for the person who killed a 320-pound black bear and left its carcass in a Panhandle boat ramp parking lot.

Wildlife officers say a resident found the bear carcass Wednesday morning near Guest Lake, south of Holt.

Ann Kirchinger, of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, says the bear was killed somewhere else, and its carcass was dumped. She says three or four people could have been involved in the bear's death.

It is a crime under Florida law to kill a black bear. The punishment can include up to five years imprisonment and a $5,000 fine.
