A storm system that moved through the southeast over the weekend brought rain, wind and hail to parts of the Wiregrass.
Several Severe Thunderstorm Watches and Warnings were issued over the time period that the storm system moved through the area. There were no official damage reports in the immediate area according to the Storm Prediction Center, however, WTVY viewer Julie Timberlake said that the storm took off “more shingles” off of her roof in Enterprise.
Despite the minimal damage, the storms did produce very heavy rain, frequent lightning at times and gusty winds. Houston and Henry counties did briefly go under a Tornado Watch early Sunday morning, but no tornadoes were reported in that area, and no warnings were ever issued for either county.
