It's National Watermelon month.
Saturday Landmark Park celebrated with a watermelon harvest and sampling.
Dozens turned out to try the different varieties grown at the park.
Visitors also got a chance to meet the Alabama Watermelon Queen.
The Alabama Watermelon Association also gave out recipes for tasty melon dishes.
"Our grandchild likes watermelons and since they were having a watermelon tasting time we thought she might enjoy it so we went and got her and brought her over," said Robert Taylor.
More than 1200 varieties of watermelons are grown across the world.
