A wanted man has been arrested by the Dothan Police Department.
Steve Morgan Jernigan, 62, of South County Road 49, was arrested on Tuesday, June 11 as part of a theft investigation that began in 2012 and involved a class cars business he once owned.
Investigator’s say that in December of 2010, Jernigan entered into an agreement to restore the victim’s antique automobile. He allegedly accepted and cashed $20,000 in checks for services and parts that he never performed or purchased.
In November of 2012, Jernigan allegedly agreed he owed the victim over $16,000 and was to pay the agreed amount back, but never paid anything.
Jernigan has been charged with first degree theft of property. His bond has been set at $5,000.
