Three people are dead and two more hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident in Covington County.
The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on Covington County 31, five miles south of Andalusia. Matthew Kenneth Douglas, 30, of Andalusia and passengers Ryan Givson, 2, and Jordan Gibson, 3, both of Swansea, South Carolina were killed when the 2000 Dodge Douglas was driving left the road and overturned.
Two other passengers, Jessica Gibson, 25, and 7-year-old Haley Gibson, both of Swansea, South Carolina, were transported to a local hospital for treatment. State troopers report seat belts and child restratins were not in use at the time of the crash.
All of the vehicle's occupants were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
