TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) - A school official says a young child's condition is improving after he was struck by a school bus in Macon County.
Macon County Superintendent Jacqueline Brooks says the situation
is looking more positive each hour, and it appears the 5-year-old kindergartner will make a full recovery.
The child was transferred to Children's Hospital in Birmingham on Friday. He is a student at D.C. Wolfe Elementary School, where a school councilor was answering questions from classmates.
Alabama State Troopers say the Macon County school bus was unloading students at a bus stop shortly after 3:30 p.m. Thursday
when the boy was struck.
The accident happened on Macon County Road 13, about half-way
between Tuskegee and Shorter.
