Two Die When AL Hostage Situation Turns Deadly

WETUMPKA, Ala. (AP) - Elmore County authorities say two people
are dead in Wetumpka after what began as a hostage situation.

Ricky Lowery, chief deputy of the Elmore County sheriff's office, said Friday that two people were killed in the Thursday night shootings.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation has been brought in because
the case the shooting involved an officer.

Officers say the shootings happened in the Wallsboro community.
One of the victims was reported to be 17 years old.
