One of the biggest rivalries in the wiregrass is between Northside Methodist Academy and Emmanuel Christian.
But Thursday, students and teachers from both schools, went against that mentality.
The students met at wiregrass church in Dothan to build a better Christian relationship.

"We want to be known as Christian schools and a lot of times we get labeled as rivals on the basketball court or sports team, and we are much more than that. We wanted to come together as one body under Christ." Northside Methodist Operating Officer Matthew Johnson said.

Teachers say this "coming together" was all kicked off by the death of Emmanuel Christian student and athlete, Savoy Jones.
