A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Troy man and his son.

Timothy H. Green, 34, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when he ran off the road, struck a tree and overturned.

Green and his 14-year-old son, Timothy Blake Green, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County coroner.

Three other passengers were transported to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Seat belts were not in use in the crash that occurred on Pike County 3304 three miles south of Troy.

Although the investigation into the crash continues, Alabama State Troopers say use of an electronic device and speed were factors in the crash.
