The Dothan Police Department has arrested two local men after they allegedly stole checks, a shotgun and fireworks.
Investigators say Joshua Jacobs, 21, of Webb Road and Colby Sauls, 19, of Peel Drive, stole three bank checks and a shotgun from Jacobs' place of employment on Sunday, June 2.
On Tuesday, June 4, Jacobs took two of the checks and deposited them into his personal bank account. The two then attempted to cash the third check at a convenience store but were unsuccessful.
Both Jacobs and Saul then broke into the “Fireworks Stand” located on Glen Lawrence Road in Cowarts and stole approximately $1,600 worth of fireworks.
The men were arrested and are now in custody. All property has been recovered.
Both men were charged with three counts of second degree passion of a forged instrument, one count of second degree theft of property and one count of their degree burglary. Their bond has been set at $75,000 each.
