UPDATE: 11:24 am

The US-China Manufacturing Symposium is underway at the Dothan Opera House.

Leaders from all across the Wiregrass are meeting with Chinese business leaders, ahead of the three day event in March.

News 4's Bethany Anderson was there.
She talked to the CEO of a manufacturing company that could bring business to Dothan.

They not only make the gloves that Alabama football players use, they make other popular US imports as well as including Coach designer bags.

It is a big international company and it does have the potential to foster a strong working relationship with Dothan, but there's no clear word on what that could be at this point.

We're told it would create new industry and jobs, but again, those details are still in the works and we probably won't have those answers until next year.

However, I can say from this morning's meeting that the company is invested in the US.

They are invested in Dothan.

This is their second trip to the city and they are eager to integrate their company into Alabama in a way that's best for everyone involved.

Here's what CEO Juliana lam had to say.

“I can actually foresee that what we've been making in 50 years that there could be new products that we could invent together and work out together,” said Juliana lam.

When asked if this manufacturing company would honor the same working conditions and benefits as a US company, Lyann said she loved her job, her employees, and that her company's mission statement is to live happily and embrace each day with ambition.
