DOTHAN, AL--The school wants to enter an agreement with the city of Dothan to complete an access road to the campus.
The road would be located off Brannon Stand Road.
Officials say it will resemble the entrance on Highway 231.
They say this will clear up safety issues.
"Over the years we've had issues there because we only have one entrance and one exit. We've had the road flood at one time, we've had a tree fall down over it, so if you're on campus and there's an emergency it's real hard to get on campus and off campus," said Troy University-Dothan Director of Development Gayla White.
University officials say they started the process a few years ago.
Once Houston County commissioners approve the request it will go before the city.
The work will cost up to $130,000.
