DOTHAN-- The Library/Technology Building on the Troy University - Dothan campus received a new name Friday morning. During a special ceremony, the university dedicated the R. Terry Everett Hall.

Everett served eight terms in the US House of Representatives where he focused on agriculture, the armed services, veterans and intelligence. He also had an impressive career as a newspaper executive and farmer.

The Troy Board of Trustees voted in July to rename the Library/Technology Building. School officials said they hope Everett's legacy will be known to many for years to come.

"I hope that when people see his name on this building that'll be one of the first conclusions they can make, "a job well done," Troy University Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. said.

The hall will also house Everett and his wife's congressional papers.
