BIRMINGHAM, Alabama The trial of two former Birmingham police officers charged in the 2008 beating of a suspect following a 22-minute high speed chase and crash is being delayed because of
the weather.

Chief U.S. District Judge Sharon Blackburn ordered the Hugo Black U.S. Courthouse in Birmingham closed again Tuesday because of concerns about ice and snow on area roads. The courthouse was also closed Monday because of snow and ice.

Blackburn said the trial of David Doran and Barrett G. Dewitt is now set to begin again at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The officers are accused of striking the man, Anthony Warren, with their fists, feet and baton, causing bodily injury.

The arrest was captured on a police dashboard video.
