ATHENS, Ala. (AP) -- A trial has been scheduled for an Alabama state trooper accused of criminally negligent homicide in the death of a couple in April 2011.
The family of 31-year-old Jamie Lee Gossett and his 38-year-old wife, Sarah, filed a civil lawsuit against 32-year-old Heath Moss following the crash on April 25, 2011.
Authorities have said the trooper was driving with his lights and sirens on when the car the Gossetts were riding in was rear-ended.
The trial is set to begin April 29 in Limestone County Circuit Court. It is unclear if Moss has an attorney.
