Texting and Driving Law Starts Wednesday

That’s when the no texting law goes into effect.
The law states you cannot text, while driving, and that includes if you’re at a stop light.
But it’s not just for cell phones.
Drivers must program a g-p-s before taking off.
However, officers say it’s still okay to go through your phone book to make a call.
Officers hope this will decrease the number of accidents on the road.
The first time you are caught texting and driving, you'll get a 25 dollar fine, the second time, a fifty dollar fine, and the third time, a seventy five dollar fine.
Officers say although this sounds like a small price, when you add in court costs, it totals out to more than a 200 fine.
Now if you get to your third ticket, your insurance company can drop you.
