Employees will relocate to the old Mayer Electric Supply building on North Foster Street but it's only temporary.
The move is set to take place toward the end of December.
Officials say they hope to be back in the county building by May.
Commissioners say the move is to make improvements to the county building and save the county money in the long run.
"It's a good deal for us and what makes it even better is if the savings don't meet the expectations in the contract then we have a guarantee that they'll write us a check for the difference, so the county can't really lose on it, " says Mark Culver, Chairman of the Houston County Commission.
The cost for moving, operating temporary offices and renovations is expected to be around $385,000.
