Teen's Death by Train Ruled Accident

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- The Madison County coroner says a 14-year-old boy was apparently wearing headphones when he was struck and killed by a train that was blowing its whistle.

Coroner Craig Whisenhant told al.com (http://bit.ly/T1C5Nx) that he has ruled the death of 14-year-old Dylan DeWayne Jones an accident.

The student was struck by the train Friday afternoon while walking along tracks near Lee High School, which he attended. His funeral was Tuesday.

The coroner says the train conductor told investigators he sounded the whistle, but the teenager never looked back.

The coroner says headphones were found at the scene of the accident. He believes the student may have been listening to music when he died.
