Today Headland Middle schoolers put on a talent show to raise money for cancer research.
This last minute effort is for the school’s Relay for Life team, the event is tomorrow.
So far they have raised $4,500.
They are raising money for a cause hitting close to home for the two co-captains.
Emily Tew and Sara Beth Johnson said, “For me my dad died of cancer 11 years ago so its important for me that way. And for me my mom and dad both had cancer. They both survived but it is very special for me.”
40 students make up the Headland Middle School’s team.
