In honor of our nations fallen heroes the Wiregrass community held a wreath laying ceremony to remember veterans that have lost their lives in battle.
The emotional event was held inside of the chapel at the Sunset Memorial Park.
Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz proceeded with a moment of silence and Colonel Shawn Prickett followed with an inspiring speech.
This was the Fourth Annual Ceremony supporting families who lost their loved ones.
The tradition of honoring men and women who sacrificed their lives is a national movement, recognizing American soldiers during the holiday season.
Jamie Clark, the widow of a fallen soldier added, “To see the community come together like this and tell me and my son we will never forget is overwhelming.”
Next year Sunset Memorial Park would like to have one-thousand wreaths so that they would be able to place evergreen wreaths on Veterans graves all over the Wiregrass area
