Students Artwork Displayed in Local Museum

Move over Picasso, Highland Elementary School students are painting their way into history.

Its part of a pilot program called "Arts Connect."

The Wiregrass Museum of Art partnered with the school to teach students K-5.

Their artwork will be on display in a special exhibition Tuesday night.

"The biggest part of their month is having art class. It's something they haven't had in decades at Dothan City Schools and it's exciting to them and they're excited about the opportunity to have their work displayed at the Museum of Art," said Principal Vicki Davis.

The exhibition is on display tonight until 7:00pm.

It's free to the public.
